S-Office and EDI / ECOD

EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is an international system for electronic document exchange, supported by standards established by GS1. Known in Bulgaria also as ECOD, this system has been successful for several years in connecting suppliers with retailers (like Metro, Billa, Fantastico, Picadilly, Kaufland, Carrefour) through Internet. Due to the change in tax legislation, electronic invoices are recognized as official documents in Bulgaria, closing the full cycle of electronic documents, and allowing for an efficient business communication online.

While it is common that all orders, receipts and invoices are manually transferred into the managerial systems after they are published in an online website, few are aware that all these documents can be automatically uploaded to their ERP system when using S-Office. This option has been offered to Step-Soft's clients for several years.

Using the diagram called Sales to Chain Retailers, as with other processes in S-Office, the user can follow the natural order of documents, given regular business circumstances. Thus, they can save time, and ensure no errors will ensue from a manual transfer of the documents.

An EDI process tree can be added to each of the systems, based on S-Office. Dedicated servers at the ICDE (Internet Center for Data Exchange) of Step-Soft ensure the automatic transfer of documents from the retailers to Step-Soft's clients, ready for further processing directly in the system.

If you need more information, or you want to improve the efficiency of the communication between your company and the large retailers, do not hesitate to contact Step-Soft's consultants by phone or e-mail.
